My Supplement Guide

Navigating the world of supplements can be a really daunting task. And while I believe most of our nutrients should come from whole food sources, we still need to be able to fill the nutritional gaps that exist due to poor soil quality, lack of accessibility to quality foods, and the stress of our everyday life. Below I’ve rounded up my favorite supplements and why I love each.

This supplement is one of my two non-negotiable supplements. IMO, everyone should be taking a probiotic. It promotes a healthy gut, which is essential for digestion, immunity, skin clarity, energy and a whole host of other functions. I take two each morning and each evening for maximum benefits (you’ll need to work your way up to this though - start out with just 2 in the morning on an empty stomach). I swear this product eliminated bloating and is the most essential part of keeping my digestion regular.

This is my other non-negotiable and what I consider to be my multi-vitamin. I think of it as nutritional insurance - filling any nutritional gaps that might be caused by diet, stress or lifestyle. Each packet comes with a superfood multivitamin, macro minerals, algae omega and an adaptogenic b-complex. I take it each day with lunch to ensure proper absorption (these vitamins are fat-soluble, meaning they need fat in order to be properly utilized).

I don’t take these vitamin C packets everyday, but I definitely take them when I’m traveling or under lots of stress. These packs taste delicious, they’re easy to travel with, and the nutrients are delivered to the body through liposomal delivery, meaning the nutrients are broken down in the digestive system and instead actually get where they need to go. A fun side effect of this supplement is that I actually feel like it helps my skin glow from within - always a plus!

I won’t lie to you - this one doesn’t taste great. But I don’t take it for the taste, I take it for the health benefits it delivers. This tonic of herbs supports the body’s ability to adapt to stress, reduces stress and anxiety, and helps to calm the nervous system. I really notice a massive difference in the way my body reacts to stress when I’m taking this vs. when I’m not. I take about a tsp each morning Marry Poppins style - straight off a spoon.

I am obsessed with these. I would say I take them about 80% of the time - especially when I’m traveling, during the summer, or after an intense workout. Roughly 75% of adults are chronically dehydrated, which is often the cause of brain fog, fatigue and headaches. LMNT packets are a great way to ensure your body is getting proper amounts of minerals, helping you to stay hydrated all day long. My favorite flavor is the raspberry salt but I also love the watermelon salt too!

This one is new to my routine, but I’m really enjoying it! Almost everyone is deficient in magnesium, an essential mineral for muscle relaxation, sleep and cognitive function (among a million other things. This is a great article on the benefits of magnesium). I take it at the end of the day when i’m ready to start winding down for bed. I have found that my heart rate tends to be lower on the nights I take it!
