Barcelona Wine Bar Copycat Brussels Sprouts
I am OBSESSED with these brussels sprouts. I don’t know why Brussels got such a bad rap as a kid because they’re by far one of my favorite vegetables. Even if you’re not the biggest fan, I would highly suggest these... They’ll turn the most skeptical into a brussels lover!
This recipe was inspired by the brussels sprouts at Barcelona Wine Bar… most people know it’s one of my favorite restaurants. I will never be able to replicate perfection but this recipe is prettyyyyyy close. I’ve tried cooking brussels a million ways and this is the best way I’ve found to get them both crispy AND flavorful. The balsamic gives it the tanginess and the maple syrup sweetens them up and the flavor combo is out of this world. Be sure to liberally salt these guys before throwing them in the oven to get the best flavor!
Directions
Preheat oven to 425° F
Wash brussel sprouts and cut them in half. Place them on a lined baking sheet and generously coat them with olive oil and salt. You can throw some garlic powder on there too if desired!
Roast for 30-45 minutes, flipping halfway through. Roast until they’re dark and crispy. I like mine almost burnt.
Once you pull them out of the oven, immediately coat them with 1tsp of balsamic vinegar and 1.5 tsp of maple syrup. Toss so they’re evenly coated and season with more salt if needed.
PS - You may need to adjust cooking time & balsamic/maple syrup depending on how big the brussels sprouts you found are.
